Join our Over-the-Road Driving team!

We started with pastries handmade by Lois and Lloyd Martin produced inside of a garage and we have boomed into a multi-facility company where our many products are produced by machines and shipped domestically and internationally. Summary: As a member of the Martin’s Family, an Over the Road Driver drives gasoline or diesel powered tractor-trailer combination to transport and deliver bread, roll and snack products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Drives truck to and from destination.
Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
Maintains driver log according to I.C. regulations.
Performs dock work including breaking down and unloading finished product at warehouses, matching and verifying product with orders, operating electric or manual jack, and loading stale product and empty baskets back on to truck.
Jockeys tractor-trailer at plant locations.
Delivers special orders.
Assists with delivering bulk finished product between production plants.
Adheres to safety, food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices regulations, including using a bug bomb in the truck after each shift.
Keeps truck clean and professional with truck washes.

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or GED preferred;
Two plus years’ OTR experience

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Class A license is required. A class A license is issued to those persons 18 years of age or older who have demonstrated their qualifications to operate any combination of vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 26,001 pounds or more, provided the gross vehicle weight rating of the vehicle or vehicles being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds. The holder of a Class A license is qualified to operate vehicles for which a Class B or Class C license is issued. Where required, appropriate endorsements must be obtained.
TWIC Card preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Meets Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical requirements.
Abides by federal motor carrier regulations.
Drives during night-time hours.
Schedule requires combination of home daily and layover runs.
Works with little to no supervision.
