Job Title: Senior HVAC Service Technician

Job Summary:

Method Air is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HVAC Service Technician to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for providing expert-level diagnostics, maintenance, and repair services on a wide range of residential and commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This is a demanding yet rewarding position that requires a deep understanding of HVAC principles, exceptional troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to delivering unparalleled customer service. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, capable of working independently and as part of a team, and possess the leadership qualities to mentor and guide less experienced technicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced diagnostics on complex HVAC systems to identify root causes of malfunctions.
  • Execute expert-level repairs and replacements of HVAC components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, heat exchangers, and control systems.
  • Conduct thorough preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Accurately interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate service records, including work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future service.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, explaining technical issues and providing clear solutions.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and company policies.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Manage and maintain company-provided tools, equipment, and vehicles in excellent condition.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of [Number] years of proven experience as an HVAC Service Technician, with a significant portion of that experience in complex diagnostics and repairs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC principles, refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and control systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve intricate HVAC issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Excellent understanding of safety protocols and procedures within the HVAC industry.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and work in various environmental conditions.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

Required Certifications:

  • EPA Section 608 Technician Certification (Universal): Must possess a valid EPA certification to handle refrigerants.
  • RMGA Certification (Rocky Mountain Gas Association)
  • NATE Certification (North American Technician Excellence): Preference will be given to candidates holding one or more NATE certifications in relevant areas (e.g., HVAC Service, Air Conditioning, Heat Pumps).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or vocational training in HVAC technology.
  • Additional industry certifications (e.g., manufacturer-specific training).
  • Experience with building automation systems.
  • Leadership or mentoring experience.
