Role Summary

As a key member of our team, you will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. This role includes:

  • Fabricating, modifying, or repairing mechanical instruments
  • Utilizing your knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, and machining procedures

This is a first shift position , Monday to Friday, from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM .

Your Responsibilities

  • Operating Machines: Carry out routine tasks using basic equipment and machines.
  • Operations Management: Follow established processes to ensure smooth operations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and repairing equipment.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Adhere to mandatory work instructions to ensure safety.
  • Operational Compliance: Ensure work meets quality standards and regulatory codes.
  • Precision Equipment Utilization: Use precision measuring instruments like micrometers and dial indicators.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances.
  • Internal Communication: Engage courteously with team members.
  • Policy Understanding: Work with guidance to align with organizational strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

Requirements:

You must meet the criteria of (A) or (B) plus (C):

  • A. Minimum of two years of relevant machining experience within the last 10 years, demonstrating knowledge of blueprint reading and measurement tools.
  • B. Completion of specific classes at local community colleges :
    • MAC Machine Shop Practices 1-2
    • MAC Machine Shop Practices 3-4
    • MAC 146 Metals/Heat Treatment
    • MAC 121 Numerical Control
  • C. Successful demonstration of knowledge through a practical examination.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Verbal Communication: Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Planning and Organizing: Ability to prioritize activities efficiently.
  • Health and Safety: Understanding of safe work systems.
  • Equipment Experience: Familiarity with manual lathes, milling machines, or CNC equipment.
  • Experience in grinding is a plus!
