Job Summary:

We are seeking a Medical Transcription Assistant/Medical Scribe with experience in ECW (eClinicalWorks) and medical transcription editing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately transcribing and editing medical dictations, ensuring compliance with legal and healthcare standards while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

Transcription & Editing:

• Transcribe medical reports and edit speech recognition-generated text for accuracy.
• Expand medical abbreviations, acronyms, and jargon into full-form documentation.
• Ensure clarity, consistency, and completeness of transcribed medical reports.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

• Identify and correct inconsistencies, errors, and missing information in transcriptions.
• Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality policies.

Documentation & Record Management:

• Submit transcriptions for healthcare provider review and approval in a timely manner.
• Enter and update medical reports in electronic health record (EHR) systems, specifically eClinicalWorks (ECW).

Requirements:

• Experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) and EHR systems is required.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, transcription standards, and editing techniques.
• Proficiency in speech recognition software and word processing tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify transcription discrepancies.
• Strong typing speed (minimum 60 WPM) with high accuracy.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a Medical Scribe or Medical Transcriptionist in a healthcare setting.
• Certification in Medical Transcription or Medical Scribing is a plus.
