Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School Language Arts Teacher to join our hybrid learning program. This unique teaching opportunity blends in-person instruction with home-based learning, providing students with a flexible and engaging educational experience. The teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons on campus two days a week while providing instructional resources and support for at-home learning three days a week. Collaboration with parents (co-teachers) is essential to ensure student success in this hybrid model.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Delivery

Design and implement engaging, student-centered lessons tailored for both in-person and home-based learning.

Deliver high-quality instruction on campus twice a week, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards and learning objectives.

Develop comprehensive at-home assignments and instructional materials to support independent or parent-assisted learning.

Provide virtual check-ins, resources, and guidance on remote learning days to track student progress and address learning needs.

Parental Collaboration

Communicate regularly with parents to offer guidance, feedback, and support for at-home learning.

Provide strategies and best practices to help parents create a productive home learning environment.

Conduct virtual or in-person parent conferences as needed to discuss student progress, strengths, and areas for growth.

Curriculum Development

Adapt lesson plans to ensure a seamless transition between in-person and home-based learning environments.

Integrate technology effectively to enhance student engagement and streamline the hybrid learning experience.

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum alignment and consistency across the hybrid program.

Assessment and Feedback

Evaluate student work from both in-person and at-home learning, offering timely and constructive feedback.

Monitor student progress using various assessment tools and adjust instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.

Utilize formative and summative assessments to measure student comprehension and growth.

Classroom and Online Management

Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and success.

Maintain clear communication regarding classroom expectations, assignments, and deadlines.

Utilize learning management systems and digital platforms to streamline communication and organization for students and parents.

Professional Development and Team Collaboration

Engage in ongoing professional development, team meetings, and collaborative planning sessions to enhance instructional effectiveness.

Share ideas, resources, and best practices with colleagues to support the hybrid learning community.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certification

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (required).

ACSI Certification (required) or willingness to obtain certification.

Experience

Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a hybrid, online, or blended learning environment.

Experience in Christian education is highly preferred.

Familiarity with hybrid or remote learning platforms and instructional technologies.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, and Slides) to create instructional materials and track student progress.

Experience with learning management systems such as RenWeb and Google Classroom.
