General Overview: 

Retail Shop Manager: is a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of a small retail grab-and-go shop. This includes managing food and beverage offerings, serving customers, handling cash/POS systems, maintaining cleanliness, restocking, and ensuring an excellent guest experience.

General Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Open and close the store according to company procedures
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers; provide fast, friendly, and knowledgeable service
  • Stock, and display grab-and-go food and beverage items
  • Maintain product freshness, check expiration dates, and ensure food safety compliance
  • Ensure proper rotation of perishable stock (FIFO) method
  • Place and receive inventory orders; track stock levels and reduce waste
  • Supervise and support team members during shifts, led by example with a strong work ethic
  • Handle cash register and point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately
  • Always Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the shop (front and back of house)
  • Update promotional signage and maintain neat, organized shelves
  • Monitor store performance and assist with sales reporting and daily cash outs
  • Report any equipment issues, supply needs, or customer concerns to upper management
  • Follow health and safety regulations and ensure team compliance
  • Occasionally assist with catering delivery handoffs, if required, under manager guidance
  • Assist in organizing and staging outgoing catering orders for pick-up and delivery
  • Help with wrapping and packaging catering items in an organized, presentable, and secure manner
Qualifications

  • Able to work independently, manage time efficiently, and follow through on tasks without supervision.
  • Skilled in creating a welcoming customer experience, handling inquiries, upselling products, and resolving issues professionally.
  • Experienced with point-of-sale systems, managing transactions, and completing accurate end-of-day reports and deposits.
  • Capable of tracking inventory, receiving deliveries, restocking items, and minimizing waste or product loss.
  • Knowledgeable in food safety practices, DOH requirements, proper food handling, and maintaining a clean environment.
  • Able to arrange product displays, signage, and layouts to enhance visual appeal and increase sales.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and calm decision-making in handling unexpected issues or guest concerns.
