ERM is seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Senior Consultant, Climate Change to join our growing corporate sustainability and climate change advisory services practice. The person will report to Partners in Manhattan, NY , but the role is hybrid/remote and remote locations will be considered. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to work with an expert consulting team on climate advisory projects for Fortune 500 and privately held clients. In this role, you will contribute to developing and expanding ERM’s corporate sustainability and climate change business. ERM offers a wide range of services including strategy development, policy and regulatory analysis, greenhouse gas emissions target setting, and peer benchmarking. We assist clients across various sectors in developing and implementing climate change programs and contribute to policy development in climate, clean energy, and transportation. Responsibilities: Managing Clients and Projects: Understanding climate and energy policies, identifying risks and opportunities, and conducting analyses. Supporting the development of climate strategies, action plans, and science-based targets. Thinking strategically to influence decision-makers. Knowledge in utilities, transportation electrification, or air and climate regulation is a plus. Coaching colleagues and managing project lifecycle, including scoping, budgeting, and delivery. Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and client communication skills. Building trusted relationships with clients and partners. Teamwork and Organization: Supporting, coaching, and engaging team members. Mentoring junior staff and conducting technical reviews. Managing relationships with stakeholders and internal teams. Contributing to sales and service delivery capabilities. Business Development Activities: Supporting proposals and new business campaigns. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in policy, law, economics, engineering, or sciences. 3+ years (5 preferred) in consultancy, private sector, or environmental policy. Understanding of low carbon energy transition challenges and opportunities. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Attention to detail and high-quality deliverables. Project management and leadership abilities. Effective communication skills for executive and client engagement. Enthusiasm, initiative, and team-oriented mindset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; data analysis skills are a plus. Salary for the Senior Consultant, Climate Change position ranges from $80,000 to $95,571 USD annually, based on various factors including experience, location, and performance.
