Job Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the modernization of its public-facing and internal websites in New York, NY. This high-impact initiative will redesign, migrate, and deploy a new content management system (CMS), rebuild the "Find a School" application, construct a centralized website data mart, and re-engineer supporting applications. The PM will ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of all project phases under a strict Waterfall methodology.
Responsibilities:Serve as the single point of contact for all project activities and communications with DOE stakeholders.
Lead project planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out for four integrated workstreams:
CMS Platform Replacement
“Find a School” Application Redevelopment
Website Data Mart Development
Website Supporting Applications Modernization
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Oversee all vendor personnel, including technical, design, QA, and administrative teams.
Report weekly status updates and monthly steering committee briefs.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks, manage scope changes, and resolve issues.
Coordinate with DOE staff on requirements, acceptance testing, knowledge transfer, and deliverable sign-off.
Ensure all deliverables align with DOE cybersecurity, accessibility, and technical standards.
Store project artifacts in DOE-specified repositories and ensure proper documentation.
Experience: 8+ years of large-scale IT project management experience, preferably in the public sector.
Certifications: PMP (required); ITIL and other relevant credentials preferred.
Tools & Skills: MS Project, MS Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, SQL queries.
Methodology: Waterfall SDLC (no agile, hybrid, or iterative models accepted).
Communication: Excellent stakeholder communication and presentation skills.
Leading CMS platform transitions (e.g., Sitefinity, Drupal, Adobe Experience Manager).
Managing integrations with Azure cloud infrastructure, GIS systems (e.g., ArcGIS), and legacy .NET-based applications.
Overseeing development of multilingual, WCAG 2.1 AA-compliant, mobile-responsive sites.
Direct collaboration with educational or government agencies.
