Web Developer (Remote ok)

The successful candidate will have knowledge of website development, management, and daily operations. The Web Developer must be comfortable and experienced with languages such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and markdown, as well as be familiar with various CMSs, web-based publishing (static site generators), and version control systems (GIT).

A central goal of this role is the ability to support all web daily operational activity simultaneously, along with developing interactive content as part of broad web initiatives. The Web Developer will work cross-functionally to define improved processes and workflows for determining user requirements. This candidate must have excellent development, coordination, and organizational abilities, along with strong communication and teamwork skills.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Maintain and direct content on web pages. Work with content owners to get correct messaging & materials in right places.
  • Ensure all day-to-day web development requests are prioritized, actioned, and maintained on corporate and event websites.
  • Build, support QA, and test using control practices for web content to continually optimize website.
  • Test different browsers and devices to ensure that various computers can access content.
  • Collaborate to manage all web change requests, updates, and additions; including developing new pages, templates, sections, graphics as needed, to support interactive and organizational content.
  • Create and maintain workflows with teams to provide visibility and to ensure workload balance.
  • Ensure and maintain all site standards are communicated and met.
  • Provide overall technical support for all sites and internal clients.
  • Continual learning and exploring of new web opportunities, as well as planning new features for public websites.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize between general web daily activity simultaneously with main project milestones and initiatives.
  • Support internal teams with enhancing website functionality (i.e., SEO, analytics, localization, real-time personalization, A/B testing, etc.).
  • Engage with internal/external cross-functional teams, such as marketing and/or external agencies on website needs/projects, including wireframe designs, site capabilities and structure.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-3 yrs in a similar web development role for a software or technology company, specifically maintaining corporate websites.
  • Experience maintaining content for web pages, including QA/test for website optimization, while supporting multiple sites and internal clients.
  • Working in multiple web environments, with strong organization skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong experience with CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, QA tools, GIT, and project management basics.
  • Familiar and comfortable using Linux.
  • Minimum BA/BS Degree.

IF WORKING REMOTELY:

  • Must be comfortable with video Google Hangouts.
  • Will work collaboratively with a remote team using Slack, Google Hangouts, etc.
  • Able to travel as needed, every 6-8 weeks or less frequently.
